Well, the process is started. I am going to extend my stay here in Kuwait, pending orders. I will move possitions from Travel NCOIC to Budgeting. i am extreamly excited as this possition will give me real Accounting experience and will help progress any career path that I so choose. The SGM even said that there is a possibility that I could go TDY back to the states for year end and that would be amazing experience. I am all game for it, bring it all on!!! :)
So, my detachment is around 100 days now. Life is full of writing SOP's for our replacements to follow. It works out though because work has slowed down quite a bit to allow for this. We are having our Internal Control Inspection this week and they are wanting to take me to Afghanistan to brief the command team up there about Travel. Yikes...... Maybe I should stop being so smart for a little bit and let this pass. On the other hand I do feel that it would be beneficial for them and me in the long run. It is just scarry, I really never had the desire to go there. But, I guess if life calls then I shall answer as I always do.
